Mighty Mt. Whitney...at 14,505 feet (4421 m), it's the highest peak in the lower 48! And after four trips up into this area, I'm still ready to go back for more!

Iceberg Lake, near Mt. Whitney
Well...maybe not actual icebergs! But at 12,600 feet, Iceberg Lake can be icy any month of the year. This photo was looking down from the Whitney-Russell pass. My campsite was at the right upper end of the lake.
