Mighty Mt. Whitney...at 14,505 feet (4421 m), it's the highest peak in the lower 48! And after four trips up into this area, I'm still ready to go back for more!

September Sun, September Moon
First light touches Mt. Whitney, as the full moon sets. That "notch" is part of the Mountaineer's Route, leading to the summit of Mt. Whitney. Seeing the moon set there, as a cold sun came up on a frosty morning at 12,600 feet...that was special (and, lucky!).
