Rifugio Biella, 31-August-2019
Rifugio Biella is traditionally the first alpine hut for those trekking on Italy's Alta Via 1. Located at 2327 meters (7634 ft) near the dramatic Croda del Becco, it was first constructed in 1907 and offers good food and clean bunks (but no showers). To get there, we climbed nearly 2800 feet to get over that pass! It was a good start to our Alta Via 1 trek.
