The water is that color due to glacial silt...beautiful, eh? And the French trail system is so civilized...you could hike at high elevation for 2 hours, and still get a sandwich and a beer at the hut at the lake! Across the valley you can see the tongue of a glacier, and part of the Mont Blanc massif.
