Winter Solstice Sunset, Goosenecks State Park, Utah, 21-December-2021

It was cold and windy as the sun set on the winter solstice at Goosenecks State Park near Bluff, Utah. The San Juan River here has carved a series of "goosenecks" into the landscape. Each of these 1,000 foot deep goosenecks reveals over 300 million years of geological history in the exposed rock layers.
