Evening light on Mt Dana, Inyo National Forest, California, 13-August-2021
The high Sierra got lucky with intermittent rain showers this afternoon, and lovely last light on this scene. Those upright red slabs of slate were called "tombstone slate" by the 49ers (who often found gold in quartz veins nearby). And those twisted Whitebark pines are one of my favorite trees...they only grow at the highest elevations (10,200 feet at this spot). Excellent ending to another lovely day in the Sierra.
